I've got a Homelite Zip that I recently bought and started the process of going over and cleaning. Well the old fuel had turned to varnish and basiclly melted the in-tank fuel filter to a gummy muck so I opened the fuel tank to clean it out. This is my first time working on the fuel tanks.

Can anyone suggest any particular way of resealing the tank? I've heard about liquid gasket products but can they stand up to the fuel and oil?

The engine it's self is in great shape. The piston is practially flawless with no scoring. Got it off of eBay as many here im sure have. It's got spark but needs a new kill switch and spark plug.

Any suggestions?
