Pulling tandem through the woods.
My efficiency quadrupled compared to using the sled.
It took some time to clear "roads' through the woods so I can get to each of the downed trees but in the end it was worth it.
I started at 8am and finished at 4:30pm. First I cut a trail into the site for my truck.(the old two track went between two ponds and it was flooded over)
The I cut my roads through the woods and finally started cutting wood around 10am.
I hauled two loads to a customer and brought one home with me. When the snow lightens up I will be headed back today. There are 19 more tops to go. I have cut 5 so far at a total of about 2 cords.

Looks like some nice wood. I like the area. Makes me want to go out and do some cutting and scout for deer tracks. Nice Pics.

Thanks Iska3. I do hunt it and have taken a few deer from it. The woodlot borders the interstate so it is very loud but conceals sound, scent and movement. It is only about 10 acres of woods but there is plenty to cut. Piles of dead elm that are leaning and off the ground. There is also a huge ash tree with a trunk diameter of about 24 inches that has fell over and is hung up in the tops of other trees. I need to figure out how to get it down. It is also loaded with bunnies for that late winter hunt. The guy that owns it lives in Alaska and because I am the only one who ever asked for permission (instead of trespassing like the neighbors) to utilize the resources I now have almost exclusive rights. Imagine what asking and being respectful can get you.

Nice. I wouldn't get away with that here, there'd be a tangled mess of wheeler, wood, trailers, and me at the bottom of a hill somewhere. I've about lost it with just a single trailer on a snow covered hill, had to outrun the trailer to the bottom.

Ive seen one of the biggest bucks of my life standing on the side of I-69 a few years ago!!! We were on our way to Wyoming to hunt Whitetails...... Go figure.... LOL....

Looking for logs for fire wood; personal use and some to split and sell. Do you have any?

I might. Got a clearing job that needs done, but the ground wont stay firm long enough to get in there, and it wont be for a while..heck you're just 20miles south of me, so you know the mess we have.

There's a guy on county line road, that is doing the clearing accross from the New Casino, that gets 800 bucks a load for green logs.
Supposed to be 8+ cord loads. I can get his number for you if you need, but 100 bucks a cord for logs isn't cheap.

Stay safe!
