Hey guys, my brother in law is trying to rebuild this old saw he inherited with his property but we’re not sure on the model. Numbers don’t seem to match up when calling a dealer. Assuming that’s the serial number on the black riveted tag by the handle but dealer says that’s not correct. You guys are the experts.

Rough measurement of the piston is 55mm and the piston has mahle 56L25 markings but that doesn’t come up with any results.

Thanks. Yes it does look similar. I will have to verify the carb. What distinguishing markings are on these saws and where do I find the serial number?

I think the serial number is right above the gas tank. In terms distinguishing markings on that saw I'm not really sure I don't own one but I would say that is the saw I think it is. here is a video of it to

What is the bore size?
Ahh i see its 55mm duno how I missed that.. I'm not sure what bore a 111s is but a 1020 is 56mm so if your measurement is over 55 but under 56 thats my bet if its 54 maybe a 90e? The pics won't load on my phone so I'm not sure what it looks like 90e and 1020 look nothing alike lol

It's been a busy fall getting ready for winter. I haven't made it back to my in-laws recently to measure it, and they live 5 mins away lol. I did however google the 56ZN4 number on the bottom of the cylinder and that seems to correspond to the 111. Comparing pictures I do spot some differences, first being in the handles on the 90e and 1020. Ours is missing the top cover and was disassembled when I first saw it too so that doesn't help.

110 has roller crank bearings and different case. 111 has ball bearing crank bearings and one piece top cover. 111S is same as 111 but two piece top cover.

110 believed to be one year only (72?) as well as 111 (73?) and 111S was produced for several years.

Many other minor differences but these are the main ones.

I have a top cover and a few other parts. Message for details.

This is the serial number. 716355.
Wasn’t able to track down any info from it.

Before you invest a bunch of time and money chasing parts you need to do one simple thing. Fill you fuel tank up and lay the saw on it's right side. Make sure it does not leak where the handle bar mounts to the right side. There have been more than one tank ruined by someone using a fastener that is just a bit too long to attach the handle bar. If it is too long it will pop through the tank and that is a major issue.

Just as an update, thanks to all that helped. Because of your efforts we were able to track down some parts and get it running.
The scoring on the cylinder walls came out with a hone and he was able to carefully pick the broken ring out and clean out the ring land. Got a set of rings off ebay from Greece and threw them in it with the cleaned up piston. Not sure that he's had it in any wood yet but its running decent in the shop. Will keep it around as more of a conversation piece, its in really pretty nice shape for the age. Still on the hunt for a top cover though. if anyone knows of one my email is [email protected].
