Last one I saw was new on the shelf about a year ago and it was just the standard price. If you find one on the shelf you should buy a lottery ticket the same day, but don’t stop looking. It’s worth the trouble.

Saw hasn’t shipped yet. I’ll give it about another week then do a chargeback on my card.
The retailer says they are waiting for the freight company to ship it. That seems like BS to me.
I’m working a different potential line on one or more MS 241’s from Denmark. But that’s probably a long shot.
I have some oceanfront property in Arizona

Alright, latest update…
Checked with the freight company- they have the saw in their warehouse, but are waiting on more information from the retailer.
Seems Mowers2Go, just have really poor administrative practices. So it should eventually get to me. Just have to get these incompetent people to provide the info.
At this time, I would NOT recommend anyone use this retailer to source an MS 241

Jumping in here late.....
Not sure if other older (not age wise!) members recall, but I was able to obtain some 241's a few years ago and passed them on to interested parties. The cost was the cost of the saw plus my gas $ in fetching them. I think most of them flew for around 550.00. I had a waiting list and took them first come/first served. Most of them came from Amish dealers with whom I had long relationships and bought a lot of stock from them, so they were ok with me asking them to set aside models I wanted. I have not seen one available in any of the dealers in my state and the 3 surrounding states for the past couple of years.
So my two cents is that to my knowledge, the well around me is dry.
I hope your deal comes through!

Little smaller than an 026. I wouldn’t compare it to the MS250. The 241 is built like the pro saws. It’s not a clamshell design.

Strictly in terms of weight and power, they are comparable.
But that’s about where the similarities end.

Power? Not even close.The 241 is a factory hot rod. The 250 is wimpy by comparison.
I know it’s a pro saw vs. a cheap saw, I just wanted to know what the thing is comparable to that I have used.

Well, the 250 is advertised as 3.0HP, with the 241 at 3.1HP. That’s for all intents and purposes, the same power.
Torque is probably different, power bands are also certain to be different, but Stihl doesn’t advertise any of those numbers.
I can appreciate all that, but I have used both saws. I still own a NIB 241 I bought last year. I was basing my opinion on actual experience.

I get what you’re say. 241 performs much better than the 250.
However, there’s a lot more than power (which is generally short hand for HP), that goes into performance.
Which is why I said the similarities end at weight and power.
I am wondering why so many folks are clamoring about the 241 over a 261. Why is the 241 better? If it uses the small open face mount bar and picco chain why is it that you are after them? The 261 has the huge advantage of using the 12mm
Its balance, compact size and power to weight ratio combined with the narrow bar and chain (picco) give it a sawing perfomance/experience (upto 16" bar) that other saws have difficulty in matching. I expect it is the most powerful saw in the Stihl line-up ever configured for the picco bar/chain.
To put it in basics; power, comfort and removing less wood, gives a result that chainsaw'ers appreciate (and clamour about).
You have still lost me. How is it more compact than a 026/260/261. Power to weight ration Really? what is the exact weight difference? A narrow bar with narrow chain....why is that an advantage. As for the most powerful using to picco that might be but why does any one want to use the picco to cut wood? Picco is a small wood brush chain.
Exactly! I use my 241 for limbing and trimming small diameter wood. I would not cut firewood with it. I have bigger saws for that.
I have both the 241 and 250. Hard to say what saw to compare the 241 to. I have a J-Red 2245 that is comparable in cc's but I think the difference in cutting is picco chain on the 241 and .325 on the J-red.
