So I have a beautiful 25ft high river birch tree my sewer lines are having to be replaced. They are going around the tree and best they can. But on a section of the tree the area had to be dug into to find the line. Some of the roots were cut to access this area. Can you please give me some guidance on how I can save our tree. Once they are done what should I do immediately after?

Are they done digging, or are they needing to dig more?

In the final analysis, the sewer line usually takes priority over someone's trees, and they generally will not pay for the extra expense of building around the tree. It does look like you could be able to go around if you were willing to spend the money on the extra expense.

Please take a few wide angle shots of the area. A really cool thing would be if you could mark up the pictures to show the intended placement location of the replacement pipe.
