Hi, i am getting new into the wood cutting. I live on a 40 acre lot. I know for sure i have elm, white birch, and maple. White birch is very easy to id. I am how ever having trouble iding all the other trees. I would like to start cutting other peoples trees that they want down and starting with cleaning out farmers fence lines. I would like to id the tree so i can split it and sell it and not tell someone its something else. I have having people mad at me if you guys know what i mean when selling wrong wood to someone. If you know of a good web site for easy learning please send it my way. Any other words of wisdom is also greatly appreciated. Thanks once again guys.

Here's another good one I picked up from AS:

Field guides I use for where I live:

National Audubon Society Field Guide to North American Trees--E: Eastern Region <--- many good color photographs

A Field Guide to Eastern Trees (Peterson Field Guides)

Winter Tree Finder <--- ID trees without their leaves

The one in red is my favorite, fits in a coat pocket and comes in handy during a walk about.
