Hickory problems

We have this Pignut Hickory in our yard.
A few days back we noticed that it was dropping leaves.
With a closer look I noticed somthing that "looks" like some kind of insect damage.

Most of the leaves up in the tree have this type of damage on the leaves.

What do you think it might be??

I looks like it is a case of ( Phylloxera Caryaecaulis ) A aphid type mite bug.
Most of the time it is harmless to the tree. That is good to know.
