My dad's Homelite 360 is leaking bar oil. It doesn't pump oil, so the chain is running dry. When he puts the saw down, the oil is pouring out of the bar weep holes.

He says there's no oil adjustment screw. Can the pump be replaced? What's involved? Where might we find one? Maybe it's a matter of O rings . . .

It's an old saw and it's heavy, but he likes it and doesn't want to go for $600 for something new.
The 360 is about 60cc, but weighs in at 15#.

TIA,
TomJV

360’s have had several changes to the oil system over their lifetime. Can you post UT and serial number ? Has anything been changed recently? They had adjustable and non adjustable oil pumps, early models oiled up through the bar adjustment hole, later models through a normal hole on bar. Oil can also be leaking at the oil line or fittings. Make sure all bar holes are clean. On the models that oil up, bar plates and bar must seal well or oil will go everywhere but to the bar. See links for parts list and service manual.

Thank you for all the information! Sorry, we put the saw aside for a few weeks, but we're back on it now.

UPDATE:
Saw: Homelite 360, model year 1982
Running: Oregon full chisel chain and 20" Oregon bar, (long term setup)
Symptom:Saw runs fine. Chain is dry and gets overheated.

I took a look at the saw yesterday. Originally, we thought there was too much oil coming out. Now I wonder . . .
The oil is clean. The gas is clean. (no cross contamination noted)
We ran the saw with the bar off. Oil pulsates from the proper hole. Not a steady stream, but pulsates like a heart beat. There's a definite delay between spurts. I'm not sure if I noted an air bubble or two. I'm not sure how much is supposed to come forth, but it's coming out for sure.
Next, we ran the saw with the bar and chain installed. We did the splash test on a paper bag. After 30 sec or so at high rpm, it made a meager 1" x 8" oil trail. Conversely, my MS361 spatters oil all over the place LOL.
Also, we noted oil dripping from the (Oregon) bar tip seam, so oil IS getting to the bar. The chain looks dry tho. Note, he's been using this bar and chain setup for a while without issues(before this).
We took a look at the cap and oil line and they look OK. Interesting, the oil line disappears into the tank where it's impossible to get at. I wonder if this comes apart easy and where the pump is.
Still stumped . . . but likely needs a new oil pump. Anybody know what's involved? I'm trying to talk him into a new MS261

I would check the oil filter to see if it’s plugged
