Homelite with drill

Looks backyard engineered, most all of the factory made drill kits I have seen had a Jacobs style chuck on the shaft to enable different diameter drills to be used.

It is possible it's a factory option. Homelite sold several drill/auger attachments. I believe c-5 or c-72 were the models with chucks. With a bit of searching I did find this adapter.

So it seems it's possible to be a "factory" option part.

Those are factory attachment. I remember those as a kid in the tool box. I’m sure I have them still somewhere

It looks kind of clumsy but I guess the drill bits would need the shanks all turned/sized to fit in that one sized hole to allow for different sized/diameter drill bits to be used.

I think I see a Allen key set screw near the drill bit end of the adapter likely to jamb the bit shank in there tightly.
