Hi all,

My Buddy's MS-310 has a oiling problem, its not getting enough oil to the 18" bar. And yes he turned the "oil-er" up. Do I need to tare it apart or check the filter or what the best way to fix it.

Thanks alot

What I tell folks to try, before they bring the saw in, is this:

Remove the bar/chain, inspect and clean it, namely the holes that deliver the oil.

Start the saw, and lightly rev it, and look at the flow of the oil. While revving
you should see a slow, constant stream of oil. If not, dump out the oil
in a clean container, then fill the oil tank half full of gas mix, and shake.
Dump in another container. Repeat.

Then put some more gas in it, and start and run the saw a bit, and watch the
flow of fluid, see if it improves.

Dump it out again, put clean oil back in and run it some more. Try this first,
if no improvement, then we can go to the next step.........

After that? If its still not working well......Whats next

You will need to remove the clutch, and inspect the worm/driver, and have access to the oil pump/pickup tube, etc.
