You also need a vendor's license. Get that at the County if you are only working in one county. Otherwise, get a Transient Vendor's license from the Ohio business gateway. i've got an EIN. i am registered as an LLC as a sole propriator. i pay taxes etc. but i need to get the labor end straightened out and get a tax exempt #
 
The "tax exempt number" is your EIN. When you buy products (let's say at a wholesaler for resale), the seller records the EIN on their paperwork that says why you didn't pay sales tax.
