the really killer deals are gone in minutes... then ad is deleted

keep watching... they do pop up... some of my best saws has come from AboristSite members. My low hours Stihl 064 in close to mint condition came from an AS member... thanks again...

Yeah. I bought a very nice Stihl 029 Super and a good Stihl 041 Rancher both for $150. Both run great and cut well. I also got 2 chains for each. All chains were in need of a good sharpening, but they were Stihl chains and cut just fine now. JR

No deals here on CL. Buyers are like starving vultures fighting over a fresh kill for anything decently priced.

Thought I had dibbs on a mint 361 a few months ago only to find someone corked me when I arrived.

I've looked a quite a few of them listed on CL that are close to me, and picked up a couple of great deals. I don't think CL is any different that local classified ads, garage sales, Trader or Thrifty Nickel pubs (if you have those in your area). If it's local, or I am in that area, I go look. If it's a good deal, I'll buy, but if not, I just say no thanks and walk away.
