Anybody else noticed these saws are bullet proof?

In all fairness...."Bullet proof"?, no.....Tough as nails...You bet!!

Just sold two more of my 288's today for what some would say is too much, but they have a following, and I can't build them fast enough!

The 288 is an excellent saw. It's fair to say that despite having owned and run ported 390XP's, 660's, 7900's etc that my stock 288 still impressed me when I bought it.

It's worth every penny to rebuild. I've run a 395 before but I like my 288 better ( maybe because it's my own).

And they still make them and sell them new, just not in the USA. Their product "where to buy" shows southeast asia and west africa.

felling saws in typical rainforest would be 070, cs1201, 288xp, 390/395xp
