I talked to my dealer about getting me a 3120 he said they're junk but in other words he said the 395xp is one step down but a better saw I'm just tying to get more opinions any thoughts or guidance would be greatly appreciated
Just depends on what your after. The 3120 by far isn't junk, it sure is heavy though. If ya don't plan on running more than a 42'' bar I'd probably go 395 myself. A stock 3120 isn't impressive at all IMO. Ported will be a way different story Im sure, But I've never ran one.

me i like 88's but the only thing that put's me off the 3120 is the fuel.. it will use 2x the fuel an 88 will to do the same job, but thats in Aussie hard wood.
yeah dont know why it use so much fuel has been like that from new,saw runs fine it does not seem like it is running rich i dont have a tac to see what revs its doing..but really they are a fine saw for what they where made to do does what you ask of it, not had anything go wrong with it just the muff came loose but was an ezy fix...
our companies 3120xp is a real fuel hog. we only use it for the large wood cause it drinks like a thirsty irish man. but talk about a great saw for milling! thanks husqy!!!
The 3120 only has 3 uses chainsaw mill, hot saw, and stump saw anything else get a 395.
I've owned both.
I need a bigger saw to do removals of larger trees I can usually get everything with my 345 but sometimes its a challenge other than that there's nothing like having a good saw on hand
395 or 390 should be more than big enough to handle the odd large tree
