I know your can interchange some of the parts between a 281XP and a 288XP. Will the air filter cover of a 288XP fit on a 281XP?

To my knowledge, everything interchanges, including all the covers. Obviously, you'd have to swap pistons and cylinders as a set.

Same goes for the 181SE for the most part - the top covers, both low-top and high-top, and subsequent air filter systems, can be exchanged. Personally I prefer the high-top appearance, but some people like the smaller size of the low-top.
