I picked up a 45 that had a scored piston and, replaced the piston and and
other necessary parts. Went through the complete saw. starts and runs fine
but it will not oil.
I have ran it with the clutch cover off and even the metal bar plate. I can watch
the oil pump moving and I do get a very slight amount of oil if I turn the saw on it's
side and open the oil cap. --- I have looked everywhere for the oil tank vent but can't
find one. ----There must be some way they vent it??
--Getting ready to drill a little hole in the case!!
Can anyone help?

I bet the teeth are stripped on the end of the plunger (oil pump shaft). 506023901 After you take it apart, you can also remove the intake 503101601 and see if the screen or line is plugged.

The pumps wear out. Baily's has them for about $35. I think I wore out the original and 2 more.
