Husqvarna 50 and 50 Special questions.

Does anyone know all the differences between the Husqvarna 50 and the 50 Special ?
I did a search of the forums, and never did find an exact explanation. From what I read, I'm guessing the 50 might be open port, and the 50 Special closed port. Not sure if this is accurate, or if there are other differences in these two saws.
Appreciate any input/advice.

50 was 49cc engine
50special was 50 Point something cc.
had to do with how government was regulating engine size as engines under 50 cc had one classification and those over 50. Cc were another.
I think crankcase was different also from what I remember
think both open port as no power difference.
Stihl did same thing with 026 for same reasons later on.

The 50 is 44mm bore, the 50 Special is 45mm, both open port.
The crankcase bore changed when the Special came out. It is possible to grind the bigger bore jug, or the cases to suit though.
