There is some YouTube footage from Europe, where it is already out. Looks like it rips! It's auto tune, pretty much the 70cc version of a 562xp

So you would choose the older 372 over the new 572? Why?

My best guess is it’s a pretty major improvement over the 372.

It's a classic LoL. I like the balance and power to weight ratio of the 372. Just has a good feel. And probably the biggest reason is that I don't like buying first year saws (or cars). I'll wait a few years until all the bugs are worked out.

I would think most of the bugs with the Autotune would be worked out by now, but it still might not be a bad idea to wait a while. I will certainly have to wait before I can get "authorization" from the boss (married 23+ years) to buy another saw. I just put out $1850 for both saws, 10 chains, and a safety kit. That is my intro cost into chainsaws!

i see you didn't even get your third saw before you proclaimed yourself a professional logger. how does that work? is everyone a logger now cause they bought a saw? nobody knows the questions your asking cause the webpage you viewed is all everyone here has to go by. all the info is in your OP lol.

"The boss" i hate when men say that, drives me round the bend! It's your hard earned money and if you want to buy another saw then so what. Do women ask permission of their husbands when they want to buy yet another pair of shoes. I hate that ****!

The self-proclamation of "Professional Logger" is only meant to convince my wife that I do need another saw, when the truth is that the two I bought is already overkill for my situation. I have not received my 550 & 395 yet, but they are shipping on Monday. I have never even held a real chainsaw before. The stupid craftsman chainsaw I had before never lasted long enough to get any real time on it. It was in pretty bad shape when I got it.
I didn't mean to disrespect any real "Professional Loggers". No matter how many saws I have, I will never ever be a professional logger. I am just cutting down dead trees on my property to keep them from falling on my stuff. In the last month, I have lost the roof on my garage and had a nice car totaled. I will never be employed or make money harvesting large tracts of lumber. I am just not tough enough for that kind of thing, but I certainly have the upmost respect for those that are!

I would recommend spending a lot of time with your 550xp before firing up that 395! Coming off a Crapsman, the 550 will feel like a hot rod. And the 395 can be dangerous to inexperienced users. I don't mean to sound rude, just don't want to see you hurt.

Ah, it's not that bad. I have been married to same woman for 23+ years and I have my special tricks to get most things I want. A marriage is a cooperation and saw is a large purchase. It is something that needs to be discussed first and balanced with other needs and financial obligations. I would hate to come with a cool new saw only to have her chase me around the house with it!

I appreciate the concern! I am a bit afraid of any saw, especially one with the power of a 395. I am trying to find a tree trimmer professional to show me how to properly use a chain saw. But that is not easy with insurance & liability concerns. Even though my participation would imply assumption of risk.
I will always be as careful as possible. I bought chaps, gloves, & a helmet to minimize the danger and most important, I will not be in hurry. I will take it nice and slow watching out for kickback

Yes, if it costs as much as a new saw does. But if the shoes or handbag costs as much as a new chain, then No, she does not

Very light (about the same weight as the 562XP), very powerful and very competitively priced: MSRP is the same as the 562XP but I've already seen big discounts on it in Austria. If Stihl doesn't lower the MS462C price quick they have lost this round before it's even started. Rather intriguingly the ordinary version comes with an 18" bar as standard and the G one with a 20" one.
It should replace both the 372XP and the 576XP: like the MS462C these saws are considerably more sophisticated than their predecessors and feature some slick advances in porting and combustion management that will make work for tuners considerably harder, regardless of the usual overtly optimistic YouTube videos.

This poor guy proclaiming to be a professional logger is just asking about a damn saw that is new. He’s Just a guy that likes saws. Pipe down and step off your high horse.. geez
