It belongs to a friend of mine. It was given to him by his grandfather. It's in pretty rough shape, has been painted over more than once, has been neglected for years, but it does run (somewhat okay). I told him I'd love to rebuild it for him, but first I gotta find out what it is, then figure out how / where to get what it needs.

Any other info that anyone may wanna include about the saw would be great. Thanks. :)

Need Parts?

I have a small pile of those dressed as Skil"s. All in yellow. When you know what you need just drop me a PM and if I have it, it's yours for the shipping.....Bob

Skil 16?? series. If you are searching the web for info start around Skil 1612 and simialr numbers. They sold many different versions.

It surely belongs to that "family" of saws - the operation eventually was swollowed by E-lux, and became Emab, as far as I know.

Part of the same story........

I have a Jonsered 365, as my piece of the brand mess....:)

Here's some good info in the Trail/Skil saws:

-First made by Power Machinery in Vancouver, B.C. in the early 60's.
-Branded for a number of companies including Skil Corp. In '68 the company was sold to Skil Manufacturing and continued production in Vancouver until '71 when it was moved to Chicago.
-During that time period, P.M.'s engineers designed an improved saw with new features, Skil decided not to persue. Ex-employees who remained in Vancouver started Quadra Engineering and began manufacturing the new saw.
-In '77, Quadra was purchased and moved to Trail, B.C., hence the name "Trail saw".
-In '79 and '80 Electrolux purchased the gasoline saw division of Skil Corp. (Emerson Electric purchased the electric division at the same time). In '80 Trail Mfg. transferred its operations to Huron Park, Ontario and in 1980 was purchased by Electrolux and changed to Emab Canada.
-The two saws are nearly identical, the "Skilsaw has the spark plug on the flywheel side and the "Trail" saw has the spark plug on the clutch side.
-Also sold as the Danarm 1-36 and 2-36SS, the Dolmar "D" JR-34, Einhell 30 and 40AV, Fercad 35, Frontier Mark 1(VIP), F35, FB35, F35VIP, F35HS, F35VIPHS, FR35 and TML35, the Greens B-30, B-35, B-40, the Husky 34, 35, 35VR and 37, the Jobu SL2, SL21 and 941S, the Jonsered M36, M361 and M365, the Mondial 640AV, the Opem 140AV, the Partner Mini PA, Mini P1, Mini P2, Mini P3, Mini P4, 1600 series, 330, 340 and 350, the Pioneer P10, P12 and P14, the Power Tuff (no model), the Ranch 130AV, 100, 110 and 120AV, the Rocky (no model), the Skil 1600 series, the Spartan 34 and 34AV, and the Star Diffusion 38-12 and 38-16.

They are tough little saws. Loud but powerful for their age and size.
