We have lots of it....its definately cherry! We just call it "wild cherry".....burns really hot when its green....even hotter when its dry!!! Long burn and little ash.....great firewood! Only drawback?....its pretty heavy!.....wavy grain inside means a little harder splitting than oak.....not too stringy though. I like it and I'm actually burning a stove full right now!.

i didnt get to split any, it snowed 8-10 inches yesterday so i guess i will wait a bit until it clears.
