Saws to guns equation huh? Well i'd have to say that if my saws were guns they would be (like my saws) the biggest possible thing I could carry for the job and still use safely and accurately.

wish I had a saw I could equate with my rifles.

guns
.22 mag
.17 hmr
.223 ranch rifle
.308 nato fn-fal
7mm mag
.338

saws to match
338
346
281
288
-------
395

I want a saw to match both the .45acp and the .357 magnum.. and a 365 to pair with the seven mil

note to self, ... guns and chainsaws both appreciate..... buy more of both...

I say a 200t is like an FNH Five-Seven... concealable, yet armor piercing...

The 660... To me its a cannon, but realistically, how bout a Benelli M4

My SXL 922 is like my S&W Model 29 - 2, 44 magnum. Both made when quality meant something and things were made of metal not cheap plastic (that goes for saws and guns).

My oh my, I can get into this. Been reloading 18 different calibers for over 20 years.

As far as saw to "gun" I guess my Dolkita 6401 is the equivalent of a .22-250 Rem. 788. Not fancy or as well known, but eats the lunch of anything in it's class.

Echoing the 6mm/.243 sentiments, you aint shot a mid range rifle til you shot a .244(as they use to be called)6mm. Flat out walks away from a.243. Have chrono sheets of a 55gr pill doing 4250fps out of my 6mm Rem pump. Shot 1.1" at 200YARDS as well.

So who has the equal of a .218 BEE? .35 Rem.? 7X57 Mauser? 7mm Express(also known as the .280) .250 or .300 Savage? .32 Special? .307 Win.?

If I was to do some comparos with some of the guns I own and saws I own it would be something like this:

Stihl MS241C - CZ527 in .222 Remington (accurate and economical).
Husky 353 - Ruger 77/22 (accurate, economical, and has never missed a beat).
Stihl 200T (x2) - Winchester Model 70 in .22/250 40° Ackley 27" Kreiger (fast and accurate).
Dolmar 7900 (x2) - Remington 700BDL-DM .25/06 (good calibre however the Dolmars are far more reliable than this POS BDL).
Husky 390XP - Tikka T3 Stainless Varmint in .25/06 (fast and accurate with plenty of grunt).
Husky 3120 - US Property .303 British (super reliable but not the best handling thing ever made!).

MS241C a bit like the new Hornady .17 Hornet new kid on the block not yet proven.
MS261 Brno .22 always reliable cant wear it out.
MS441C WIN Mod 70,Maddco ss barrel, wild dog stock in .243 always reach for it,accurate
MS460 Ruger No1 falling block,Shillen barrel in .17 Ackley Hornet work horse, made some money for me from wood and foxes.
MS660 WIN Mod 70,Maddco ss barrel, wild dog stock in .270 WSM gets the gob done.
MS880 Beretta 682 Sporter u/o 12 gauge ya got to have a big bore.

36 husky Is like a 22 long rifle, light, not overpowering and will get most small jobs done.
S25cva Is like a 22 magnum, more power than the 22 long rifle but still not a big guy and a bit long in the tooth, but very usable.
ms200t Would be like my 223, reasonably light, fast but not to fast, and vary versatile.
346 husky Would be the 220 swift, very quick, and a bit more power than the 223 but a bit heavier too.
372 husky Would be a 6.5x55, just enough power to get most jobs you'd ever come across done. And both Swede's.
044 Would be like a 308, dependable all around power and torque.
460 Would be like my 300 H&H, more power than the 044/308 but not a huge amount.
066 Would be like my 375 H&H, Enough power to do any job on the planet. but on the really big jobs, just barely enough power.
088 Would be like a 458 winchester, big, powerful, but not as fast as one might expect.
880 ported Is like my 460 Weatherby, big, very powerful, and fast. It will take on all comers, just bring it on. Both WILL draw a crowd.

I guess I'd say the Mac 125 is like an old 577 nitro express and the 090 is like the old 600 nitro express. both old, a bit crusty, but about the most slow hard hitting power you could want.

Oh and the Dolmar 166 would be like a 458 Lott or 500 A square. Fairly modern big power that's smooth, a bit different, beautiful, with a lot of class.

If I had a 10 cube 090 I'd say it would be like a .50 BMG

My Stihl MS200T would be my Anschutz .17 HMR.
My ported Echo 500p would be my Remington 700V 22-250.
My ported Echo 600p would be my Remingon 700 in 257 Weatherby. Fast and Furious.
My Echo CST 610EVL would be my Les Baer 1911 RRP.
My Husqvarna 266XP would be my Remington 700 300 WSM.
My Makita 6400 BB would be my Remington 700 300 RUM.
My ported Stihl MS 460 would be my Remington 700P 338 Lapua. Both are powerful hammers.
My Pro Mac 700 would be my Remington Custom Shop 700 in 8mm Remington Mag. Kind of heavy, obsolete, but both get the job done.
My Homelite Super XL would be my Remington 600 in 350 Remington Mag. Both don't get any respect.
My Stihl 025 would be my AR 15 in 5.56. Both are light and nimble and with a few tweeks, very reliable and accurate.
My Stihl 032 would be my Lee Enfield Jungle Carbine in 303 British. Old school for sure, but both are very cool.

Husky 435= .223 - light agile and very capable
Husky 50= .250 Savage-- doing the job without alot of fuss
Husky 365XT= 30-06 factory specs.....open the "restrictor plate" and mod muffler= 30-06 loaded to more modern specs

Bill
