influences on splitter prices?

I've been reading the threads (thanks everyone!) and looking around on the manufacturer sites, and wondered: Is this the time of year that for the new splitter models? Does that mean they might have "close outs"? There are some "free shipping" offers out there. Maybe they geared up after last year and have made more than they can sell? Of course, with last years steel prices, and the lousy economy, maybe prices will drop this year? Maybe good engines will be cheaper? Maybe some of the manufacturers will go out of business? Maybe......... Maybe........

its a guess, but generally like everything else prices go up steadily each year. They usually dont change much year to year and have many "new models>
