Installing roller catcher/dual daws on 441?

Well, went ahead and got the dual dawgs/roller chain catcher for the 441.

Dealer couldn't find both dawgs as a kit, just the roller catcher/clutch cover dawg. Bought the inside dawg, and the other parts were ordered.

So I got the bigger dawg on tonight, and while had the cover off, noticed something.

How do I get the nut for the outer dawg on? Does the chain slide come off, just glued on or something?
