Sure. It looks pefect for operating my Corona pruner.

Sadly, I don't have enough light rigging jobs that I can afford to have seperate ropes for. So I do it all with fully capable arborist rope.

This is the link to the new england website. I have used 3/4in for my primary rigging line for removals. It is tough and works great. I remove a lot of Doulgas Fir here in Oregon, and that id mostly natural crotch except for the tops. This line is phenomenal. For your smaller Island trees I would go with the 5/8''line. Here in Oregon we RIG BIG!! My motto here is: Another day another Doug Fir. :hmm3grin2orange:

i found a place that sells this http://www.samsonrope.com/index.cfm?rope=166 1/2" for $0.83 a foot $125.00 for 150 feet!

ok. just bought the rope. but!!! i got 150' 7/16th's instead of half inch becuase they were outta stock with half inch. it breaks at 7,700lbs. it was a compromise between getting 150 feet or a higher breaking strength 5/8"s and risk not having enough length. im assuming 7,700lbs breaking strength is gonna be enough for small branches off a euc tree like 4-6 inches diameter as long as i cut them in 3-6 foot sections right?

that is static weight capacity. If you drop em a ways before they catch (shock load) your capacity diminishes exponentially.
