the saw is bigger than he is..

BWAHAHAHAHAHAHA

Friend Josh came over yesterday with his new 084 and we stihlerized the big pine log hanging out in the back yard. So I go, "take my pic with the saw"! I am standing there holding it up hoping he would snap it fast before I fell over! hehehehehehe

Few pics

Me with a lotta saw

Little scale on what we are cutting, that's a 36" bar

Josh was making a bucking cut and that sucker split open by itself where the two main leaders had almost grown together. They were sort of glued together with sap and ants...

Fiskars fodder for later

Different angle, man, that's one beefy hard gnarly pine. I've already started splitting some of the lesser branches and chunks of trunks, hard going, multiple ring sets inside the trunk wood, kinda of interesting, but makes for harder than you might think splitting

Here's the link to Josh's post over on the chainsaw forum, he took some vids. Yes, I was having a good time..heh

My first thought with the beard and floppy hat was witness protection program. Judging by the stack of wood in the back ground of the bottom picture looks like you have a great start on next years supply. Great pictures thanks!

hahahahahaha! Actually shanelogs has it correct, jiss an ole woods hipster.

I like the floppy hats because they work, keep the rain and hot sun off of me. Tried cowpoke hats, don't work as well because they are ridgid, baseball hats lack in keeping rain from going down your neck, so floppy hats are the next best that does the job.

As to wood, I am probably starting on my 2014-15 wood stacks now. Not sure, but I think so. I have tons to split and a lot of logs on the ground not even bucked up yet. And I keep cutting. Goal is five years ahead, then extra, see what I can do with it. I was shooting for just two years ahead, that was easy, so, well, keep adding to the stacks, make new stacking areas. If I get so much there's no way to use it, there's always other folks who might need some wood.

Damn Zogger - you are a very enthusiastic feller (pun intended.)

As the others said in the chainsaw forum, lean that hog out, too much 4-stroking, and no I'm not talkin' bout you, Josh, and yer GFs...

I kinda thought so running it, but it was running ok and it is Josh's saw so he can tweak it next time.

Ya, I like some fun. Cutting wood, handling it, splitting it, all fun to me, not work. I know that would change if it was an all day long every day thing, but it isn't so....

Ha, with the tractor work I do, some days I get *paid* to go boggin'!

No not really, just having a good time. I was yelling partly because we both had earplugs in and it was loud. Normally I am fairly quiet actually. Don't get a lot of visitors here, so kinda fun to interact with other humans. Aside from my GF, I am mostly just around animals 99% of the time. Talki to my boss once or twice a week. When I work all day long I am by myself. That's about it except for whatever talking you do to go to the store and buy stuff. So just some fun, being the movie guy there, never shoot any vids, that was Josh's iPhone we were using. I was the narrator! HAHAHAHAHAHAHA --see, laughing now.

Proly one of the reasons I post a lot, this is my "human conversation" time. And I laugh here quite a bit as well!

Seen your picture before, Zog. Yer one who turned out to look like I woulda guessed. When you told me about swingin' in the swamps on those vines, I thought, "Yup Hillbilly with the floppy hat."

Glad you got some company in there besides just all the gals that used to work for your escort service.

I need the Fiskars pontoon adapters

So, I went back to whacking away at that pine, geez loweez that is some juicy stuff. Swing! thud SPLASH! I smell like a Christmas tree plantation.

I did a few smaller rounds and went back to the dryer oak pile...I split until I couldn't see any more from it getting dark, got a lot more oak than pine done. Much nicer later in the evening with a breeze and it cooling off.

Wimmin go crazy for a chain... saw... man...

..so, the other day, minding my own business, yet another ferrari pulls up in the drive..typical big hair big sunglasses looking girl

My Gf goes "Another one of your firewood customers"?!? "Why do they always come over here, don't they have a phone"? "and why are they all rich..and why not any guys"???

me-> "Well..hmm..remember when I said I put that ad on the bulletin board at the rich country club..that's where they come from" "Oh, and all those must be trophy wives, just out for a drive" "Oh ya....they are sorta dumb, can't explain anything on the phone, they all want me to come over so they can show me where to put my wood"..

that's my story and I'm sticking to it...

Good Job Zogger! I have also had some pesky wet would that refused to split until the 031AV came out and noodled it :D

It's coming along. The oak splits OK, that pine, sheesh, rubber wood. Once it gets a teeny dry though it pops apart, weird how that is. Anyway, I noodled two of them yesterday with my new (used) saw and the longer used bar I got for it in town (365, and I put a 28 on it). Had to try it out. Popped a few holes where the MM deflector will go, and got the splined tool for carb adjustment.

Nice looking Husky there Frank! Now all you need to get is a Stihl 660 or a 880 and your "family" will be complete! LOL

If you mean me, my given name is Mark. As to getting a big stihl..it was fun running one but I would rather a husky 3120 and a 39x series, any of them, for real big saws. I have much better local husky (and my poulans) support than stihl. Plus, prices are more reasonable on used units. New, they are all expensive. I like my poulans, and I have a good runner old 245a that is 74cc (just an excellent saw really), but got to live in the real world where parts are NLA or used expensive and hard to find, etc. Trying to gradually shift over to more modern saws with good parts availability.

*Eventually* that husky 365 will get ported, as I learn more and get more tools. The smart guys have said don't bother with the aftermarket big bore kits, and just stick to stock, or husky OEM "big bore". a 372 topend.

I don't remember the cc's on the non x-torq 365's. I notice the new ones are the same as the new 372's, but I thought earlier models were actually closer to 65cc's. Would someone refresh my memory.
