guys I've got 2 homelite xl12, a Stihl 056 magnum, a Stihl 170, a Stihl 291 and just 2 weeks ago bought a Stihl 661 carb version. the xl 12 saws are slow and manually oiled but cut all day long with 16 inch bar and chain. the 56 is a power house won't stop until fuel tank is empty with 42 inch bar and chain, the 170 best climbing saw I have with 14 inch bar and chain, the 291 with 20 inch 325 chain drops anything 4 feet in diameter and under, the 661 handles everything over 4 feet with a 25 inch bar and chain. it's not the size of the bar and chain but how well the operator knows his cutting technique

I inherited 4 Frick 01 sawmills from Dad after he inherited them from Grandpa. there still in use to this day. when we hire someone new they start out cutting trees with one of the old homelite saws because if their too impatient to run them I don't need them cutting or at the mills

If I had a 661, I’d be cranking it up long before the trees got to 4’ diameter if my next biggest saw was a 291. Just sayinz’. Your cutting technique must be marvelous compared to mine. I pull out a 94cc saw when trees get too much over 24 inches.

I've had a chainsaw in my hands since I was 13 cutting firewood. logging i started at 14. I'm 43 now back then we used a team of mules to pull the logs out instead of skidders and dozers

there's the 661 the day I bought it new. haven't used it much the 056 magnum takes care of most stuff and the 291 does smaller stuff, the 170 is a tree saw, the homelites are mainly yard saws for the mills
