Makita 6401 big bore or no

I think I read here or on another site that you really don't see a difference in power or speed of cut on 6401 vs big bore mod until you go over 24" bar, I've got two 6401's one with 20" bar the other with 24 , can't tell any difference in the way they cut. I bought a big bore kit that was on sale in case I need to rebuild one of them.I may never use it. I was just wondering if there is an amazing difference as I don't plan on using larger than 24 in bar. Many of the videos I've watched had 28 in bars. Thanks in advance for your opinions.

I've heard you're better off going with the OEM 7900 P&C and getting it ported. I put the BB from Bailey's on my 6401 a few years ago and am very pleased with the result. Here's a vid comparing my 361 to the 6401 before and after the BB kit.
