How long does it take a maple tree to start the new growth process after pruning? I am not sure but I think it is a water maple , if there is such a thing.

Swamp Maple ring a bell? Acer rubrum/Red Maple, also called the swamp maple. Watershoots shoudl start growing once the tree has come out of dormancy (spring).
