"Ya Don't Know What Ya Don't Know"
Hey all,
First off... I want to say hi to everyone. I have been lurking for a few months.I grew up on the 82cc Macs. I have 3 of them, SP81, DE80, and 8200, and going to pick up a 805 in a few weeks. My uncle has several more. Long story short he grew up in logging family and learned to repair and rebuild the 82cc series stuff. So i have a good teacher however yesterday a fuel leak issue on my 8200 (just got it and rebuilt the carb, it had been setting for years) that proved out to be a leak at the tank split. My uncle said he have never been successful and splitting a tank, well we got this one spilt and i suspect only because someone had been there before us.And it looks like they sealed the entire tank with weather adhesive i might add lol. My question is this:
What sealant/gasket material should we use to rel-seal the two tanks halves together? I searched this and just can't find a clear answer.
Thanks guys.
Max
