McCulloch Flatback carb parts

Hi all,
New to the site so apologies if I'm posting in the wrong section...
Been given a McCulloch 895 saw by a mate to get going and need a carby kit - diaphragm and the other part with the reed valves - and a needle valve spring.
Happy to post pictures if required.
Maybe some other parts once it's running - spike, bar and chain.
Located in Melbourne, Australia.

Do your self a huge favor and ditch the flat back carb and install a Tillotson HL. You will be
way better off and have a nice dependable running saw.

I’d second this. The flat back carbs can be restored but they are very temperamental.

I'd really like to get this thing going with the original carb if possible. Does anyone have any info on the needle valve spring - dimensions, other carbs that usethe same spring etc. Thanks!

There are no parts available other than the diaphragms. You can try some of the vintage go kart guys
and see if they can help. The flat backs were used on many Mcculloch kart motors.

The needle & spring are the same as the ones used on the Walbro MDC carburetors if memory serves me correctly. The MDC's were used on Power Mac 6 and Mini Mac saws.
