I am about to install a meteor piston in an MS 260 and was wondering what the clock position of the circlip end gap should be.

There is a semi-circular cutout at about 8 o'clock in the wrist pin hole. Where should I position that circlip gap or does it matter?

Thanks for any suggestions.

Been a service tech for the last 15 years at a power equipment dealership. I cant remember exactly what manufacturer put out the bulletin but it said to position at the 12 O'clock due to heat at the piston face causing problems with temper in the retainer rings. Its always 12 O'clock for me.

Works fine until you flip the saw upside down!!:laugh:
