Just wanted to share a day’s work.
The butt of this redwood was 5’ across. The first log was 4’ long so I just cut it into two 2’ rounds to make tabletops and signs out of later.
The small log squared up at 20”x 20” so I made four 10”x 10” beams.
The middle beam was milled into 6”x 12” and 6”x 15” beams.
Both logs were 9’
The big log was 13’ long, so I milled 1”x 24” siding boards out of it. I had to take an 8” slab off one side and trim the but swell off the opposite side so that I could mill it up.
All total just over 2,000 bft not counting the rounds and none of it was light.

The logs had to be decked up before the mill could be set up to mill them so I brought in the muleskinner and his mule to help deck the logs.
