Milling California Laurel or Tanoak?

Some time this next week I have to make time to go look at some Myrtlewood logs and trees, that are tucked off back in one of those remote areas where no mater which direction you go to get there it is 25 miles of gravel mountain roads. There may even be a U-wood tree in the mix. I will take the camera and fishing poles with.

This is nice a piece of Myrtle wood that I had been saving.
The customer wanted the cant milled at 1 1/16" X 5 1/2"

This peice shows the color change.

I find myself going out of my way to get crappy logs lol.....now some nice myrtle....skys the limit.

Fishing poles huh? You don't mess around! :cheers:
