I believe it would do very well with a 16", maybe even with a 17"........

...btw, that 16" is a Norway made one, so much lighter than the rebadged Oregons.....

Well the bar I use on my 2171 is 24" and 20", but now I have Big Dogs on it, but soon small Double Dogs to use whit the 20" bar are here.
