I want bar 3005 000 4817. Where is the best place to get it?

Also Brad says I'm over complicating, but I want to go to rim drive too. Anyone have that part #?

Brad is right. Have you put it in wood yet? If you put a 7t rim on it, you're reducing available torque. Put an 18" bar on it and you might find you wanted that torque.

Honestly, use it the way it is. When you wear out the spur is the right time to switch to a rim.

No I didn't get to use it. Incase you missed my other post, the "Stihl Tech" that assembled my saw had put a 0.043 PMM3 chain rated at 2.0 hp on my 0.050 3.1 hp saw. He said Stihl didn't send a chain with it so he used one off the shelf. But when they ordered my saw they ordered two, and the saw my salesman was assembling for me had the PS3 chain. But the mechanic insisted he had "my" saw ready to go. This is the same mechanic that told me the day I ordered it that Stihl didn't make a 241. Then yesterday when we were picking it up, he told me that it didn't have M-Tronic and told my father-in-law that the 241 was built like a Pro saw but wasn't considered a Pro saw by Stihl.

They did have an employee meet me after they closed to give me a chain. I at least got a real chisel chain.

I posted the whole bs story on all the local "what's going on in the area" Facebook pages. I've had several dealers offering me discounts to come to their stores from now on. So I'm going to take them up on it. My contact friend at the Stihl manufacturering plant is the one that told me it was supposed to have a PS3 chain on it when I called him after discovering it had a narrow. Kerf chain.

As I pointed out on the other thread, the DEALER's cost is @ $450,
so what is up?

What's up is the supposedly trained technician put me at risk by putting such a small chain on my saw. The fella at Stihl wasn't happy about it either. Someone pocketed that PS3 chain and I got the shaft.

Well, he sent a receipt.

I apologize. Interesting that they would sell a saw for their cost. Being a chain store like that, the management must not have too good of a grip on things.

What if he got some charitable organization price? Similar out of line low prices have been on here before. Later to let on they got it through their church or some such thing. May or may not be true. How does that charitable organization pricing work? Does the dealer cost go down?

What does the dealer giving you the wrong chain have to do with experienced people telling you to try the saw before you start changing drive rims and you getting ticked at the people giving you advice?

Pretty much these days, they sell the saws 2 to a box, and the bars and chains come in the box,
and it even says on the receipt 16in 63ps.
The kid ordered a saw {paid shipping}, then sold it to a customer {under his cost}.

He should be fired....

Why not get them where you got the saw? Get the sprocket kit there as well. Those spur sprockets can bang up some drive links when the chain comes off, sometines. If you have to walk far and have a spur I recommend having a spare chain in your pocket. Then you will need a chain the correct length. Maybe one more than printed on the bar, might not be a stocked length. My results 55/56 and 61/62 differ from what others have posted in your threads. I prefer 56 and 62 but think the smaller ones will work.

In hind sight for paying retail or maybe 5 or 10 percent discount plus sales tax from a small outdoor equipment place you would likely meet the owner this time of year

I'm confused Harley. Are you on my side or being a smart ass?

And yeah I seen the chain listed on the receipt when I blew up the picture to send to you. Thank you for the apology. I have a written quote for $465 as well.

Let me straighten things up here. I'm happy as a teenage boy who got into a strip club with my saw now. I'm fine with the Spur. I thought they came with the Rim but the Stihl technician at VA Beach cleared that up for me. But later down the road I want to change to the rim, that's all, no rush, no fuss.

I'm happy as hell I got a full chisel chain to supplement the mistake. They did tell me the saw had to leave with a green label chain.

The reason I was upset (as well as the Stihl guys in the main plant) about the chain (or making drama) was the chain they put on the saw is Rated at 2.0 hp MAX. If I hadn't caught it, and for some reason it came off and hurt me, I could have sued them to hell and back. I took pictures of everything in the box and the saw with the guy selling it in the pictures just as a CYA thing.

The salesman that priced it to me had only been there 6 months. Sure, he messed up. You making a wise crack because I wasn't charged freight is a ri-****-ulous move on your part. Because the man you're defending said freight would have been $30 because it was my place to pay the shipping on both saws because they ordered one to keep for display.

The whole thing is settled now, and no more drama. Also, this was just a post asking where the best place to get an 18' bar from because I want a genuine Stihl part.

I think I'm done now...... Oh yeah, he wasn't a "kid"...... He was in his 50's.
