Ms260 cylinder scoring help

Attached is a pix of the cyliner. Is it too badly scored to repair? Hit it with 600 grit emory cloth? Other thoughts? Thank

Time for a new top end / new saw.....

You never know until all that aluminum transfer is taken off.

Hit it again with wet/dry 600 and some detergent to take the oil and carbon off. Then treat with hydrochloric acid, JUST on the aluminum transfer, rinse and another round with detergent sandpaper. See what you have then: junk or something redeemable?

if that saw was on my bench, new piston/cylinder and split the case to clean everything out, make sure it is still ready to go.
