Hi,

I’m looking at buying a used but like new MS261CM saw online.

The model decal on the saw says MS261C and the invoice says MS261C. See picture attached.

Does this mean this is a M-Tronic saw? If so, any major issues with these electronic carbs? Or downsides to go from regular carb to this as far as maintance cost goes?

I have a MS260 and 026 and am happy with them but wanted to go for a newer saw.

The guy says he purchased it 3 years ago.

Thanks

Depends on who wants to know, and why.
Yes, it should be an M-Tronic. I've had mine now for a few years, and it's been great. If you buy it, make sure you get the owner's manual with it. It explains a lot about the M-Tronic and how it functions.

Some prefer saws w/o the M-Tronic for various reasons. Given the choice, I'd go with the M-Tronic all day long.
