All I can say is if you want her to be involved, get her something you yourself would be proud to run..the "little woman" needing a small saw is a sure way to define a part time partner in hobby. Get her something really nice, but easy to start; and you have a true partner in life and hobby. Its like the old motorcycle helmet line "If you have a $50 dollar head, get a fifty dollar helmet!" You have a cheap partner in life get her a cheap saw. Mine started with a Husqvarna 440e. I wish I had bought her a 353.

I'm by no means a PPE nazi, but I would definitely recommend not wearing sandals while using a chainsaw!
