Hmmmmm you got a standard spline rim on a small rim drum? Or, a large on a standard?

There is no larger 7-spline than the standard one (but some call that one large).

Anyway, I don't think it was this kind of slop he described - rather it was the rim floating on the splines?

My impression; he has a standard spline rim on a small spline drum.

A good close up picture would clear that up.

The rim should be able to float a little in/out on the splines, to "self adjust" to where the centerline of the bar is. This is a design feature, and not a flaw.

the worm wheel was chewed up and there was no dust cover so there was too much play. got new ones and fits like a glove.

started up on the third pull but died in 2 seconds.. need to turn down the idle screw i think.

should be running tough by tomorrow.
