I got this saw off of eBay a while back.

It came with no spark plug and said had low compression. I'm reading 160 psi and piston and cylinder look like this

Checked for spark and nada. Disconnected the kill switch and still nothing. So me thinks I need a coil. Any way to test besides checking for spark?
Coil looks like this

Part number is 2631-71111.
Does this cross over to any other saw? It does not seem to be available.
Thanks, Dan.

I have a box of redmax stuff out in the garage, I'll go see what is in it.

Paid $52 shipped for this saw. My buddy has 3 029's and never used another saw til he tried my ms192t and decided he wanted a top handle for the occasional use and to keep in his truck. Thought this might do it for him. Plus I'm enjoying learning about saws from y'all and need some shop time to put it to use!

So far I have come up with ziltch, the box I had in mind was full of oddball stuff, but my garage is piled high with boxes. I'll keep digging around.

No Old Green Machine, was bought out by Zenoah, long time ago, also hooked up with RedMax back then. And after a bit were bought out by John Deere, and I believe both are now owned by Husqvarna. Saw Troll should be along with the details soon.

That looks like one of the redmax models that was actually made by oleo-mac.
Yeah, could be. Reasons like this is why folks shouldn't cry about the high cost of parts on old obsolete units, that is the way it goes.... When selling old parts, I usually try to find the part online, and then set my price, say 20% lower. And if it doesn't sell in several months, set it lower...

I get messages from kids from time to time, calling me "greedy" and so on. They don't run into their dentist's office and stomp
their little converse tennis shoes, and call their dentist "greedy", but I have found that many make friends on these sites, just to get parts cheap or free, and their memory is very short.

Nah, If I could scrub up this redmax/Zenoah coil, I'd sell it cheap, because it would maybe it's only possible sale.... Get it out of the garage, etc.... This guy is on a long journey to find a coil, I think. The best bet would be to find an e-bayer selling a lot of parts cheap.....

Check plug wire and connections carefully. Maybe charge isn't getting to plug? Would sure be easier if plug connector was loose or heat shrink tape over plug wire would fix. The mounting holes are so close together on that coil.

I can't guaranty it will fit, but a quick search shows this working on the model saw you have. I'm not a dealer I just bought a lot of RedMax stuff at an auction last summer and this stuff came with it in a lot with some other stuff I wanted.
