Yup, full throttle in the cut. That's what the carb's designed for. If you want to take it easy on your saw, just don't tackle a huge tree with extended long cuts and then don't dog it in and put extra load on the engine.

I am thinking about getting a 24" or 28" bar pretty soon! It does cut with authority when running a 20" bar. It is a toss up between a oregon or windsor bar. Maybe I might go with a clearance carlton bar from baileys.

I run mine with a GB Ti 24" bar and RSC, runs great in seasoned oak for firewood. You won't be disappointed! Congrats, a great choice of saw.

My 372xp(with 20" bar) came in thanksgiving week,

Its a great saw you will just love it with a 20" bar! I drive my saws pretty hard mostly and I just dont put bigger bars on, I like cubes in excess to bar length kindof like a 454 in a Nova yeah thats it. :)
