Newb needs advice...

Finally got around to taking a picture of this section - just to say thanks to all of the people who so kindly helped me get this part figured out...

Right side was the chain that came with the saw - a really tired, anonymous Stihl and a thrashed bar. Measurements showed at least 0.030"/0.75mm of slop between the bar and chain.

Left side is about the fifth cut on a new Stihl RSLFK full skip with a new bar.

Looks like reasonable tolerances help a wee bit.

Wow what an awsome thread

Good work on fixing the problems and inproving the results. It is wonderful to learn some of these lessons by reading instead of "the hard way". Thanks for all the pictures.
