I was cutting a Pecan with my 028 last week.All went well.However here in my neck of the woods, Pecan trees are dying right and left from last years drought.Is their any market for this wood? Mesquite is the wood of choice for cooking here in Texas, and yes we have plenty of this.The trunks are all reasonably straight with a few exception. I was just wondering if a market exists for this hardwood? Thank, Ken
 
I am sure there is many a woodworker who would be happy to get his hands on some. Take a look at the stump in Tony Rumore's thread from earlier today.
 
I like throwing it in my smoker. I've used it for firewood too. Smells like I'm smoking meat when I come home. :D
 
Pecan is excellent cooking and firewood. It can also be made into fabulous hardwood floors. I try whenever I can to get some.
 
It's used alot for smoking around my way too. hard to come by here too. It also makes some beautiful furniture and flooring. I'd mill it if I were you.
