Piston stop tool (business end) thickness?

I have seen holes punched right through the crown of the piston when using a metal piston stop, I had nothing to do with punching the holes but did have the job of fixing up the damage.

Hey--I just bought the set off ebay--2 sizes of piston stops--5 ring compressors and a rod holder-pretty cheap . Stops work good for clutch-flywheel install removal. Have use rope/cord also.--David--all plastic

Those sets are also sold at Bailey's. Pretty helpful.

I just bought a few of the STIHL ones from my dealer pretty cheap.
