polychain belt question

I have a 4400 Carlton stump grinding machine and I am going to replace the polychain belt. Goodyear $331.00 Gatesbelt $495.00. Is there any difference in these belts besides the price. Goodyear says they are the same. Opinions please

I think they run in different sprockets - the teeth are shaped different with different spacing. The Gates belt isn't rubber. You need to see the two side by side!

my gates belt is toast and sure looks like rubber of some type., the book that

came with mine listed a goodyear belt. goodyear guy said they are exactly the same now that then patten has past.


however i dont know if i should believe him,
