Was reading the Wall Street Journal today and saw a ad for sealed bids for Port Angeles Hardwoods.
Is the mill closed down?
The ad said that the sawmill was just built in 2006 and was a state-of-the-art facility.
Bids were due November 30 of this year.

It might be. One of my friends is a shift bos and he said its been slow but they are still movin wood through. I suppose if it is I'll hear more shortly. I drive by it everyday.

I know that this mill is still in operation albeit at a reduced capacity. To my knowledge, there are no plans to shut it down, barring another substantial drop in the economy.
