Pot Belly stove?

Yep, so trying to do the ol' pot belly thing for some heat is not gonna work. Its gonna run me about $500 for a full 6" stove pipe setup. Something that I just cannot justify for this pot belly. I would have to use $120 worth of natural gas for the next 4 months of winter to break even on it.

Now, if I can just get my hands on one of these two:

this was in the hunting shack we stayed in this year
kept the place warm, had to put wood in at about 3am though
usually get up about then anyway

I believe that is a caboose stove from the railroad, but I could be wrong.

You are right. I have one and it does alright if running on coal, pita on wood. They were used to heat the caboose way back when. The Loco ran on coal so naturally they did too. Take em up to where you see a little glow on the sides and they put out some heat.
