After replacing the fuel line the saw will start & run for a few minutes then stalls. Will not start again until the gas cap is removed & re-installed. Then it will start with the first pull.

I picked up a new cap - https://www.ebay.com/itm/POULAN-WOO...e=STRK:MEBIDX:IT&_trksid=p2057872.m2749.l2649. Same problem. Did I get the wrong one? There is no duckbill in the center but there is a hole on the outside center.

Should I try another cap? Or something else?

Does the inside look like this?

The slotted black cone holds the retainer circle and is held in by a star washer. Under this, is the duckbill held in by a small star washer. Maybe new ones have a honeycomb vent in lieu of a duckbill. BUT it is a vented cap. So, I'd guess you have carb trouble - esp diaphragms keeping fuel moving.
