Dropped a 150 ft, 42 DBH black cottonwood onto the backhoe for a proof test of what looked to be factory FOPS/cab of 1970's Ford 4500 tractor, which was 2" rectangular tubing.
FOPS did not survive, but no damage to tractor.
rebuilt FOPS with close to 1000# of 8 inch channel and 1/4" steel plate, all welded to backhoe frame and bolted to axle housings. Extra weight helps with moving around machinery also<G>
