I got a good deal on a Harman eception tl-200, its got more bells and whistles than I need but I cant beet the price. $600. I think it about 5 to 10 years old. The sellar says it has a air intake that is drawn from the outside via a 3" duct. Is this something that is necessary, because where my current stove sits, its not set up to run duct work from the outside. any comments about this stove would be helpful, and I am trying to figure out if this unit is coal compatible too.

No, as long as you have plenty of fresh air in the room it's in. Older houses like mine are plenty drafty to not need a fresh air duct.
